AVG Firewall is missing
AVG 2013 users are often confused why Firewall shows the ACTIVATE NOW status.
Please note, this is not an error message but information that another layer of protection is available. It is displayed only in the AVG AntiVirus and AVG Free editions because the Firewall tool is part of AVG Internet Security and AVG Premium Security. If you would like to maximize your computer protection and activate Firewall tool, just click on the Firewall button and follow displayed instructions.
False positive alarms
We noticed that a couple of false positive alarms were reported on the forums in the past week. Any AntiVirus software can detect a legitimate application as malicious when a part of its code is similar to a code in newly created malware. AVG implements advanced anti-false mechanisms to minimize the risk of false alarms to prevent this. AVG Trial expired
Once your AVG trial expired, you will receive the “Don’t lose your AVG protection!” message (the wording may vary).
You then have two options if you would like to continue with your AVG protection:
1) You can purchase a license for the advanced protection you were enjoying.
2) You can remove the Trial version and install AVG Free for continued basic protection.
