One of those rumors touches the alleged attack on Facebook, scheduled for tomorrow. The public has been aware of this scenario since August, when “Operation Facebook” (#OpFacebook) was in the public interest and dated for November 5th.
Another public rumor is connected to the Anonymous activists confronting Mexican Zeta drug cartel after a member of the hacker collective has been kidnapped – the reports say. Anonymous is stated to release confidential information about Zeta group members tomorrow (#OpCartel), in case their companion is not released.
G Data Security Evangelist Eddy Willems comments on tomorrow’s forecasts: “It’s completely unsure whether Anonymous will really attack Facebook. In any case it seems that the possible attackers are not the core of the Anonymous collective, but only followers.” This is exactly what @anonops posted earlier in August, when the rumor started spreading:
