Many people who run their own website or blog are hit almost daily with a torrent of spam comments which then have to be removed.

Spam comments aren’t just annoying; they can ruin the feel of a website and can even link back to scams, surveys and even malware. Not where you want your readers to go!

What can be done to stop these spam comments?

The good news is that help is at hand. Here is AVG’s Michael McKinnon in a short video explaining what steps you can take to keep your website or blog free from spam comments.

As Michael mentioned, AVG LinkScanner is a free tool that will quickly tell you if a link is malicious, you can download it here.
