Description:
This position is responsible for researching, designing, testing, and coding software for the filters in EdgeWave’s security products

. Oversee and enhance the manual and automated email filter rule generation system

. Research new data analysis techniques to be applied to filtering of email, web and other types of network traffic

. Implement and test these new techniques as well as maintain existing code

. Responsible for overall email filter performance

. Work with Sales and Tech Support on email filter issues

. Keep abreast of current Network Abuse/Security vulnerabilities with regard to spam, and latest viruses and exploits.

Required skills:
. 4-year degree in Computer Science or equivalent qualifications and experience.

. 3-5 years work experience programming in at least one, preferably both, of the following languages: Python, Java

. Software development experience in Linux or OSX.

. 1+ years experience with Data Mining, Clustering, Text Analysis and Machine Learning

. Regular Expression guru

. Knowledge of botnets, phishing, email scams and spam.

. Strong mathematical background, problem solving skills, detail orientation, ability to follow-through independently, and motivated self-starter.

. 1+ years experience with relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL or MySQL or Oracle).

. Ability to communicate effectively.

. Experience with source control (e.g. Subversion, Git, or CVS).
