This opening is for Senior Anti-Malware Researcher position in the Anti-Malware Operations of McAfee Labs. Primary Responsibilities:

. Researching and analyzing a wide array of different malware and file formats.

. Adding detection and repair as necessary for integration into the McAfee antivirus product line.

. Authoring descriptions for inclusion into the McAfee Virus Information Library website.

. Taking a broader look at malware evolution and devising innovative protection methods.

. Performing peer reviews of code for release into production.

. Self-motivated with the ability to stretch in times of crisis around virus outbreaks.


Required skills:
Experience & Qualifications

. Experience in malicious code analysis and reverse engineering (RE)

. Experience with C/C++ and Windows API

. Experience with IDA or equivalent disassembly tools

. Experience with OllyDbg and WinDbg; or equivalent debuggers

. Experience with analyzing kernel-mode rootkits and parasitic malware on Windows

. Experience with authoring generic malware detection signatures

. Assembly language skills

. Knowledge of various files formats (eg. PE) and operating systems (specially Windows, both user/kernel-mode)

. Knowledge of networking and internet protocols (eg. TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP, FTP)

. Experience with Windows driver development is a plus.

. Education: Bachelor’s degree (Computer Science or scientific discipline)

. Experience: 2-5 years in anti-malware research or related security experience
