Description: As a member of the Distributed Protection Systems and Research Team you will be responsible for deploying, growing and maintaining large distributed systems. You constantly interact with an international team of open minded engineers located in Romania, Germany and The Netherlands to find the very best solutions for our systems. You will be responsible for infrastructure design, deployment and operation of a variety of systems and coordinate such projects with internal IT and external vendors.
Required skills: Your ability to think out of the box and your strong will to pursue the right solution through extensive research inspires others and invigorates projects. Your independent solution finding skills are complemented by your ability to learn from others and your open-mindedness. With pride in your work and a sense of urgency to deliver the best possible solution, you persist to see your work completed in a product. You have a degree in computer science, strong system administration skills (especially Linux), programming experience in the field of automation and the ability to learn new languages within a short timeframe. Ideally you have prior experience with cloud computing (IaaS or PaaS), Python and configuration management tools like Puppet, Ansible or Chef. You are familiar with system analysis, system design, system architecture, data flow/throughput analysis, data security and capacity planning. You also have a deep understanding of all system layers including virtualization and networking. You know how to find performance bottlenecks, security holes and failure points in any layer of the architecture and implement fixes.
