Company name: Avira Operations GmbH & Co. KG
Location: Tettnang
Germany
Travel: often
Poster represents: employer
Terms of employment: Salaried employee
Hours: full time

Description:
You will be responsible for the introduction and improvement of various cross-company projects. The project’s beneficiary is located in the Avira Protection Labs, a department consisting of more than 75 people in three locations worldwide and whose goal is the improvement of the detection ability of the Avira products to protect Avira customers from current malware and internet threats.

You will be the interface between various people within the Avira Protection Labs but also to other departments within Avira such as development, web-development or global project management. Leading meetings, convincing teams of the right solution, optimize existing processes, collecting and presenting information and data from various people and guiding a project from the beginning until the go-live will be part of your key tasks. You also will be in charge of testing the project and make sure it is deliverable before it is handed over. You will keep close contact with our web development team located in Bucharest, Romania and are therefore willing to travel 1-2 weeks per month.

To ensure that you have the necessary knowledge leading future projects, you will start with various trainings within the Avira Protection Labs to understand the workflows. You will learn and afterwards present your learning to a team; the topics will cover how we analyse malware, how we create detections and what key projects we use already.

Parallel to your training, you will be assigned to your first project. You will quickly analyse the needs with the beneficiary and the necessary tasks that have to be done, execute them and bring the project to a successful release within your first three month in Avira.

After you finished the training you will be assigned to a bigger project. You will face a variety of challenges such as cultural differences, different technical opinions and overall differences in style of working. You take a key role and identify yourself with the project, take the right decisions and even though many challenges will wait for you, you will bring the project to a success. You will keep the motivation in the development team as well as from the beneficiary on a high level, even though some of the people in the team might have chosen a different technical approach.

Required skills:
The best project analysts are great in creating user stories, requirements and specifications of projects together with all involved parties such as the project’s beneficiaries and web development. Due to the fact that you deal with people all around the world, English is, besides German, a language that you can write, discuss and communicate passionately.

You have the ability to lead meetings, to understand complex technical processes and to present them in a way that even non-technical people can understand them easily. You have the necessary discretion to deal also with difficult personalities.

The projects you deal with are all technical, therefore you come along with a solid level of technical knowledge and understanding in the IT area such as operation systems or database systems and you are aware of the methods of agile software development.
