Network security firm Palo Alto Networks announced on Thursday that it has opened a new cybersecurity solutions lab at the company’s new regional headquarters in Singapore.
Designed to help companies address threats to cyberspace in the Asia Pacific region, Palo Alto Networks said the new high-tech facility comes as part of the relocation of its regional headquarters from Suntec City Tower 2, to its new home at 1 Temasek Avenue, Millennia Tower, Singapore.
“The new regional headquarters and cybersecurity lab will provide customers the opportunity to learn about the latest cutting-edge technology for combatting cybercrime, including advanced persistent threat (APT) protection, firewall, IDS/IPS, and URL filtering,” the company said in a statement. “This is delivered via live hands-on demonstrations by cybersecurity experts of Palo Alto Networks or via proof-of-concept testing, on-site or from anywhere in the world via video conference.”
“This is an exciting day for Palo Alto Networks,” said Mark McLaughlin, CEO of Palo Alto Networks, who was on site to officially open the new headquarters. “Our company continues to see tremendous growth and the Asia Pacific region is a key market for us; we have significantly strengthened our business since establishing a base here in 2009.”
“The Asia Pacific region is home to the highest number of internet users in the world, with exponential growth in online banking, shopping and social media activity making it a prime target for cybercriminals,” Sharat Sinha, Vice President, Palo Alto Networks in Asia Pacific, said in a statement. “Our new regional headquarters not only positions us for further growth, but also enables us to take our Asia Pacific operations to the next level and better serve the increasing needs of enterprises, service providers and government department organizations across the region.”
The new regional headquarters in Singapore will house the company’s Asia Pacific operations and personnel, including regional expert technicians, systems engineers, product management, sales, human resources, marketing and executive teams, the company said.
