Facebook: News Feed changes are aimed at ‘low quality’ sources

In an interview with All Things D, News Feed manager Lars Backstrom says that for now, the company is judging the quality of content by looking at its source. As we refine our approaches, we’ll start distinguishing more and more between different types of content, Backstrom says. Backstrom declined to say specifically which sources Facebook has deemed low quality or high quality, but that designation is based in part on comments, clicks from mobile users, and user surveys.
