Here’s how easily you can kill your Facebook email address

One of the more annoying features Facebook still offers to users is a special Facebook.com email address that never really took off as a viable email alternative for Facebook users. While it’s not clear whether the company plans to discontinue it, what Facebook has done is to limit its use to forwarding any messages to a user’s primary email address. Forbes reporter Kashmir Hill noticed registration emails for “sex cam services and an inappropriately-named Instagram account” hitting her email address via her Facebook, and realized someone managed to identify her Facebook.com email address “by pairing the ‘public user name’ contained in the URL of every Facebook profile with @facebook.com” to sign up for those online services.
