It could be worse: IDC pegs BlackBerry’s market share at 0.6%

Last month Consumer Intelligence Research Partners caused a bit of a stir when it reported that BlackBerry’s market share in the United States had fallen all the way down to 0%. Now research firm IDC has come along with some slightly better news for the one-time Canadian smartphone titan: Its worldwide smartphone market share was more than 0% in the fourth quarter of 2013 and stood at a comparatively robust 0.6%. This doesn’t mean that things are swimmingly for BlackBerry, however, as this figure represents a decline from the 3.2% market share it posted in the fourth quarter of 2012.
