Microsoft cuts 18,000 jobs as part its largest layoff ever

Microsoft today announced that its cutting 18,000 job, the biggest round of job cuts in its history, as part of its ongoing restructuring efforts. In a release, the company says that Nokia, which it acquired for $5 billion earlier this year, will be the most affected, with 12,500 professional and factory positions expected to go by the end of the year.
