Microsoft said to be waiving Windows Phone fees for some manufacturers

Rumors have been swirling recently that Microsofts Windows Phone OS may become free to help it compete with Android. Now two unnamed Indian companies, part of a group of new Windows Phone partners, have told the Times of India that theyre getting WP8 at no charge. One said that its not paying Microsoft a license fee through a specific agreement, though Redmond wouldnt confirm the statement.
