Nokia schedules press event next week, new Windows Phone 8.1 hardware likely

Nokia is planning to hold a press event next week, alongside Microsoft’s Build developers conference. The Finnish smartphone maker started sending invites to the media briefing earlier today, and the event will start at 4PM PT / 7PM ET on April 2nd, the same day Microsoft holds its first keynote for its Build developer conference. While Microsoft is expected to unveil Windows Phone 8.1 next Wednesday, Nokia will likely unveil a pair of new Windows Phone 8.1 handsets. Sources familiar with Nokia’s plans tell The Verge that the company is working on two Windows Phone 8.1 devices currently.
