Reaching the Far Lands: one man’s journey to the end of ‘Minecraft’

On March 28, 2011, Kurt J. Mac opened a new game of Minecraft and started to walk — and he hasnt stopped. Nearly three years later, hes traveled seven hundred virtual kilometers in hopes of reaching the end of the Minecraft world, a mysterious place called the Far Lands. Its a glitch in the game that fractures the blocky landscape into illogical patterns and shapes when a player travels great distances. Some speculate that the Far Lands were removed from the game and replaced with vast oceans in Beta 1. …
