Samsung admits to shoddy software, plans to throw cash at the problem

Samsung is the best in the business when it comes to getting smartphones into consumers’ hands. There are several reasons Samsung’s phones are so popular, of course, but software likely isn’t listed among them. The company is well aware of the issue though, and recent reports suggest that Samsung is eyeing several key acquisitions aimed at bolstering its software efforts. Samsung will also attack the problem from inside. Speaking during Samsung’s analyst day on Wednesday, the company’s CEO admitted that software is definitely a sore spot and said that nearly half of Samsung’s research and development staff is currently working on improving the situation.
