Say goodbye to computer cable clutter

Intel has pledged to deliver a truly wire-free PC experience meaning that everything from peripheral cables to the power lead itself will soon be consigned to the trash can of desktop computing. We already have wireless speakers, wireless keyboards and the wireless mouse, but some cables are harder to cut than others when it comes to the computer. With the exception of all-in-one devices like the iMac, theres still a DisplayPort cable that connects a PC to a monitor and then of course regardless of the type of computer, there are the die-hard peripherals like printers and scanners and hard drives that more often than not need to take up one of the systems USB ports. But at this weeks Computex Taipei show, Intels Senior Vice President, Kirk Skaugen detailed a host of wireless technologies that are in development and that will replace everything from monitor connections to the power cable itself.
