Steve Jobs compares Mac to inventing the telephone in this video, which hasn’t been seen in 30 years

Was the debut of the first Mac computer as pivotal a moment in human history as the invention of the telephone? According to Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, it was indeed. The Mac celebrated its 30th birthday last week and while much of the coverage on tech blogs overlapped, TIME managed to dig up a great video that hasn’t been seen since 1984. In the video, which was later picked up by 9to5Mac, Steve Jobs talks at length during a presentation at a shareholder meeting one week after the unveiling of the first Macintosh computer.
