Steve Jobs to be honored in US postage stamp

The achievements of the Apple co-founder, who died in 2011, will be celebrated in a new stamp to be issued by the US Postal Service in 2015. It would be interesting what the great man, who pioneered advances in digital technology and in instantaneous communication, would make of being used to deliver old-fashioned snail mail, but nevertheless, Jobs will become one of a very select few technologists ever to be immortalized in this form. While literally hundreds of political, artistic, sports and cultural heavyweights have been honored with a US postage stamp bearing their likeness over the years, Jobs will be joining a very, very small list of those from the field of technology to have been recognized in the same way. However, he will be in good company as that very small list quite fittingly includes Alexander Graham Bell, Thomas Edison and Chester Carlson, the inventor of the Xerox.
