On September 10, 2015, the #fbi Director James B. Comey continued advocating #law enforcement’s concerns that companies’ adoption of stronger #encryption without possessing a key to decode it creates an environment favoring criminals and impeding investigators.
The debate about whether law enforcement should possess the ability to access #encrypted communications has risen to the surface with the fear of the alleged global prevalence of U.S. #surveillance activities, and highly publicized breaches that have exposed millions of personal identifiable information. Right now there is considerable push back from the technology community on this issue.
