Earlier this week, Apple released the much anticipated iOS 5 patch which aims to solve reported problems with battery life and cloud syncing issues. The battery life glitch which is the most anticipated part of this patch is set to deal with a rapidly depleting battery on the new iOS 5. Some users have even reported of losing 1% of their battery each minute!
Importantly, the update also adds multitasking gestures for the original iPad. Also being improved is the performance of voice command program Siri with Australian users.
The iOS 5.0.1 is available for iPhone 4S, 4, and 3GS, iPad and iPad 2 and iPod touch (third and fourth generation).
So what’s gone wrong?
Apple users have taken to the official forums complaining that the iOS 5 battery life glitch has not been correctly rectified and that the problem persists. This will come as a disappointment to thousands of users who have been complaining about this specific issue after purchasing the new iPhone 4S.
While some users report an improvement of battery life, some disgruntled customers claim that the issue has been made worse by the update.
How can I get up to date?
As with any Apple updates, updates can be downloaded on your PC or Mac and will automatically be installed on your devices when connected. Further information can be found on the Apple support pages or on the iOS 5 page.
