Pastebin is having a bit of a tough time at the moment, with persistent DDoS attacks doing their level best to keep the site offline. Something else it probably doesn’t need right now is a rise in automated posting tools designed to spam links and text over and over again. With that in mind, here’s a program designed to do just that:
The user enters a title for their post, the content they want the body to contain, “minutes” (how long the program will post for) and “expiration” (how long the post will remain live on Pastebin before expiring. This can be everything from 10 minutes to never).
It has built in proxy support, and if the Internet goes down it’ll pop up a message.
Once the spamming ends, the user is informed how many times it posted and also where those posts can be found.
As you can see, the post above will live on for exactly seven minutes before being removed. Autoposting tools certainly aren’t new, but a program like the above has the capability to flood Pastebin with junk and also spread potentially malicious links.
Of course, end-users should be taking care with regards what they download whether posted to Pastebin, a forum, Facebook or anywhere else for that matter. If it looks, smells and tastes like spam then you should steer clear.
And stop smelling your monitor, people will talk.
