A Twitter phishing attack is spreading rapidly today, attempting to obtain Twitter logins via Direct Messages. If you receive a message , “Found a funny picture of you!”, and linking to a site called “mugweb.ru,” do not click the link.
Clicking the link takes you to twittelr.com/verify-/session/login-/
Users who do click that link and enter their details are inadvertently letting spammers take over their accounts, which are then used to spam the same Direct Message to all their friends.
The webpage at twittelr.com is mimicking the real Twitter login page. Do NOT enter your Twitter credentials on this phishing page; you will give the hackers total control over your Twitter account.
If you have entered your Twitter credentials at twittelr.com you should immediately change your Twitter password. If you can’t login you should request a password reset from Twitter
