Description: Job Description Sr. Security Manager – Vulnerability Research Location: Santa Clara, CA About the Role: The Person that takes this role will be working within McAfee Labs to lead a team of world class security researchers and provide high quality security research result. This is a unique opportunity to influence and contribute to a critical part of the business that protects our customers. Specifically, the person will manage a global team that performs vulnerability research for network intrusion prevention, and host intrusion prevention products. The team is also responsible to create specific and behavioral signatures for these products. Another secondary focus area of this role is to provide insight into the threat landscape and competitive intelligence to the research team, and provide guidance on the roadmap of McAfee’s next generation security technology. Finally, the person will speak publicly and promote the research and technology of McAfee Labs. Key Responsibilities: . Lead the Vulnerability Research team and fulfill the following o Daily Root cause analysis on vulnerabilities, patch analysis o Research on new exploitation techniques and develop signatures for protection o Respond to new Cyber Threat, provide emergency response . Provide directions for new threat research and new security technology . Support security content delivery for HIPS and NIPS products .
Required skills: Required Experience/Skills & Education: . Expert knowledge of vulnerability research and exploitation skills . Expert knowledge of network protocols and protocol analyzers/reverse engineering . Experience of developing signatures for host and network security products . Excellent communication and team-work skills; Desired Skills: . Experience of managing an international team; . 10+ years of security industry experience .
