Following Samsung’s critically panned Galaxy Gear, Google is next in line with an answer to Apple’s nonexistent “iWatch.” According to a report on Tuesday from The Wall Street Journal, Google plans to launch a smartwatch within the next few months. The report mirrors earlier rumors suggesting Google’s intelligent assistant Google Now will play a key role on the device, but adds a few details. “The smartwatch will be able to communicate with other devices such as a smartphone, and draw information such as travel schedules from a user’s email through Google Now,” a source told the paper.
