VB2011 was held from October the 3rd till the 7th in Barcelona, Spain. We were privileged to be part of the conference where we presented “A study of malicious attacks on Facebook” (abstract here). Being fully committed to the security industry, we felt compelled to do this research that summarizes attacks on a social network widely used around the world but also widely used by malware writers for spreading malicious content. This paper was written to help show the big pictureng: the status of attacks, what is being done about these, and what more could be done in order to better fight the Facebook bad guys.

I was not able to attend the conference and the paper was presented by Robert Sandilands. You may download the slides from: http://www.virusbtn.com/pdf/conference_slides/2011/Revilla-Sandilands-VB2011.pdf.
