Microsoft has been positioning the Surface Pro 3 as a top rival for Apple’s MacBook lineup of laptops and now one Mac diehard is putting that claim to the test. SlashGear’s Vincent Nguyen, a self-described “unabashed Mac and iPad user,” has written up a review of the Surface Pro 3 in which he’s found a lot to like in Microsoft’s newest tablet-laptop hybrid. Starting with the hardware, Nguyen praises the Surface Pro 3′s “sturdy, beautifully crisp magnesium alloy metal casing” that “puts most Windows notebook and tablet OEMs to shame.” He also gives a thumbs up to the Surface Pro 3′s kickstand that he said offered more flexibility than earlier Surface kickstands without sacrificing any of its sturdiness.
