Android’s voice search now recognizes ‘hi, mom’

Google has smartened up voice search in Android by making it now possible to call your friends and family based on what they are to you rather than who they are. This latest tweak is very much in line with Googles broader strategy of offering utility in exchange for information — in order for the system to work, you need to update your contacts to include their relationship to you.
