Apple chases more money from Samsung and sales ban in patent suit retrial

The second victory it scored against Samsung in their second U.S. patent-based lawsuit isn’t enough for Apple, as the jury only awarded the iPhone maker almost $120 million in damages, which seems like petty cash compared to the $2.2 billion it wanted for alleged infringement. Therefore, Apple on Friday filed a document with the court asking it to ban sales of certain Galaxy devices, Re/code reports. The company also asked judge Judy Koh to grant it a partial retrial on the amount of damages Samsung should pay. “Apple will suffer irreparable harm if Samsung continues its use of the infringing features, that monetary damages cannot adequately compensate Apple for this resulting irreparable harm,” Apple explained in its document on the
