Apple today provided an update on its supply chain labor compliance, revealing that as of October, its suppliers have achieved an average of 95 percent compliance to the companys 60-hour work week. Apples keeps tabs on over 1 million workers per week to cut down on excessive hours. While we are encouraged by these results, we will continue regular audits and go deeper into our supply chain to ensure that there are no underage workers at any Apple supplier, reads the report. In all, the company says labor conditions have improved substantially over where things stood one year ago. Apple says many suppliers tell us that we are the only company performing these audits, so when we do find and correct problems, the impact goes far beyond our own suppliers.
