Apple releases OS X Mavericks 10.9.1 update with Mail fixes, other improvements

Apple today released OS X 10.9.1, the latest update for its desktop OS following the October launch of Mavericks. The update is rather small and contains bug fixes and software optimizations rather than any new features. Finally, the Shared Links sidebar — one of our favorite features of Mavericks — will now periodically refresh when its open rather than requiring a manual refresh from users.
