AT&T releases shock-resistant Samsung Galaxy S5 Active

The Samsung Galaxy S5s waterproofing was one of its headline features, but if you need a little more resilience ATT may have you covered. The previously leaked Galaxy S5 Active is now on sale, adding shock resistance to Samsungs flagship smartphone while keeping the same specifications: a 5.1-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display, a 2.5GHz quad-core processor, and a 16-megapixel camera inside a water- and dust-proof body with a heart monitor. Although the casing looks hardier than that of the Galaxy S5, its reasonably slim — a far cry from the bulky rugged phones of yesteryear that often looked closer to military hardware than something youd carry in your pocket. But its questionable whether theres as much of a need for this phone as its predecessor, the Galaxy S4 Active, since the regular Galaxy S5 already offers more protection against the elements than most devices on the market.
