Bitcoin-Mining Android Malware Surfaces on Google Play

Although Bitcoins are valuable as digital currencies go, mining them is a relatively inefficient way of making money, due to the incredible amount of processing power required to produce them. This has not deterred the malefactor behind the BadLepricon Bitcoin-mining malware, which has made it past Androids first line of defense and into the Google Play store. San Francisco-based mobile security company Lookout discovered the malware and detailed its findings in a blog post.
