Microsoft named its third CEO in its entire 38-year history today: Satya Nadella. After Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer, Nadella faces the challenge of running a company that has 16 different billion-dollar businesses and will soon have 130,000 employees thanks to the Nokia. That’s not just a huge challenge, it’s also a question of focus and strategy for Nadella. But he won’t be alone: Microsoft co-founder and former chairman Bill Gates has stepped up to work with Nadella as a technology advisor, a role where he’ll be working with Microsoft’s various business groups on future products.
