Edgar Wright, the inventive filmmaker behind Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, will no longer direct Marvels Ant-Man. According to a statement, Wright and Marvel have parted ways due to differences in their vision of the film, with a new director to be announced shortly. Wright has been attached to Ant-Man for quite some time, and the film has been actively moving forward in recent months as Michael Douglas and Paul Rudd joined the cast. The split is being described as amicable, but Wright taking on a Marvel film had been seen by many fans as an exciting prospect given his singular voice and creative vision — not dissimilar to Joss Whedons involvement with The Avengers.
