Facebook users who dont identify as either male or female will finally be able to customize their gender identity — and preferred pronouns — on their profiles. Facebook disclosed the changes to the Associated Press just before rolling them out.  Facebook software engineer Brielle Harrison explained the importance of this change to the AP: Theres going to be a lot of people for whom this is going to mean nothing, but for the few it does impact, it means the world.
