Samsung launched more than 10 versions of its flagship Galaxy S4 smartphone in 2013. We’re not talking about different variants with varying antenna configurations for different carriers, we’re talking about completely different models. Samsung has never been afraid of the “gadget spam” label and its strategy of launching as many different devices as possible that might appeal to as many customers as possible is working quite well — Samsung is the top smartphone vendor in the world by a staggering margin in terms of shipment volume.
