How Getty’s pro photographers are shooting Sochi

Even in the face of controversy, the Sochi Winter Olympics have produced some stunning pictures. But getting these pictures to the wider world isnt a simple process. CNET Australia reports on the logistical set-up of photo agency Getty Images, finding a network of hundreds of photographers, editors, and manipulation experts, a vast array of specialist photographic equipment, and a state-of-the-art 20-kilometer cable that lets Getty deliver pictures from southern Russia to the rest of the world within three minutes.
