JD.com quarterly revenue rises 64 pct

(Reuters) – JD.com Inc, China’s second-largest e-commerce company, reported a 64 percent rise in quarterly revenue as the number of its active customers nearly doubled. However, net loss widened to 582.5 million yuan ($93.9 million), or 94 cents per American depositary share (ADS), in the second quarter ended June 30 from 28.3 million yuan, a year earlier. Revenue rose to $4.6 billion. Gross value of goods sold more than doubled to $10.2 billion. (Reporting by Soham Chatterjee in Bangalore; Editing by Kirti Pandey)
