KitKat gains steam, now on 1.1% of all Android devices

After just one month, Android 4.4, or KitKat, is now on 1.1% of all Android devices, according to the latest update to Google’s Android dashboard. Jelly Bean (Android 4.1, 4.2 and 4.3) still has the largest share, with 54.5%, followed by Gingerbread (Android 2.3) at 24.1% and Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0) at 18.6%. Google updates its Android dashboard at the beginning of each month. Since KitKat was released on October 31st, this was the first update that included the latest version of Android. Early KitKat adoption seems low, as is the case with all new Android versions following their debuts, but 1.1% penetration is actually quite respectable.  Android 4.3, which was released in July, is now only at 4.2%, which helps illustrate
