Syfy announced that a new television drama series based upon Lev Grossmans acclaimed The Magicians is in development. Comparable to a grown-up Harry Potter universe laced with sex and drugs, The Magicians pivots around a group of New York-based twenty-year-olds embroiled in a world where magic exists. Sera Gamble, former Supernatural showrunner, and In Plain Sights John McNamara will be the writers for the show which will consist of hour-long episodes. They will also serve as executive producers alongside Michael London who optioned Grossmans first novel.
