Metal Galaxy Alpha coming this August to ‘kill’ the iPhone 6

Samsung may be getting ready to launch a new flagship smartphone in the coming months – other than the already released Galaxy S5 and the upcoming Galaxy Note 4 – whose purpose is to compete directly with the iPhone 6 that’s set to arrive in September. Korean publications ETNews and The Korea Herald have learned from sources familiar with the matter that Samsung’s response to the iPhone 6 is a device made of metal called Galaxy Alpha, likely an internal name for the premium handset as opposed to a final product name. Despite increased criticism, Samsung has defended its preference for plastic when it comes to building flagship smartphones – including the Galaxy S5 – but the company has been rumored to be working on metal
