Microsoft debuts Universal Windows Apps for building cross-platform apps

Microsoft on Wednesday announced a new Universal Windows Apps initiative, which will allow developers to create apps that will work across all form factors, including computers, laptops and smartphones. The new API set for developers will facility the simplified creation of apps and games that work across Microsoft’s three main platforms — Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone 8.1. Watch live as Microsoft discusses Universal Windows Apps and other new products unveiled at its Build 2014 keynote.
