Netflix said it has greatly improved its content selection since introducing the streaming plan in 2010, and the price hike is intended to help the company acquire more content and deliver a better streaming experience. In addition, Netflix recently began streaming in 4K (aka Ultra HD), a format with four times the resolution of 1080p HD, which is available on a small number new high-priced TVs.
