New iMacs are coming, but they’re not the Retina iMacs we’re waiting for

Apple will reportedly update its iMac line next week, French publication MacGeneration has learned, although the new iMac models won’t feature Retina displays. Instead, the new iMacs said to be coming next week will receive a processor bump and possibly new Thunderbolt 2 ports. The news apparently comes from the same source who accurately predicted the launch of new MacBook Airs. Earlier this year, Apple released a similar MacBook Air refresh, with the 2014 models receiving faster and more energy-efficient processors, and cheaper prices across the line. The new iMacs will receive a processor speed bump of 100MHz across configurations, with MacRumors saying Apple will use Intel’s recently launched processors, including the “3.3 GHZ i5-4690, the 3.5 GHz i5-4690, and 3.6
