Syfy has several new shows coming, including a series based on the demons-and-angels thriller Legion, but Ascension is particularly intriguing. Starring Battlestar Galactica’s Tricia Helfer, the six-episode series is set on a spaceship that left Earth in 1963 as part of a plan to perpetuate the human race. With a pilot directed by Mark Romanek (Nine Inch Nails’ Closer video), perhaps that shouldn’t come as a complete surprise. Written by Soo Hugh (Under the Dome), it stars Milo Ventimiglia (Heroes) and American Horror Story’s Lily Rabe.
