Oculus is racing towards making virtual reality available to consumers, but its not quite ready yet. Instead, it is releasing an upgraded version of the original Oculus Rift to developers, with higher resolution displays and much improved head tracking. Sean Hollister tried it out at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco and came away impressed.
