Qualcomm names Steve Mollenkopf as new CEO

Yesterday, Steve Mollenkopf was rumored as a potential candidate to take over as CEO of a big tech company and todays news is that he will indeed do so — only the company hell lead wont be Microsoft as speculated, but the one he already works for, Qualcomm. With almost 20 years at the giant chipmaker, the last of which were as Chief Operating Officer, Mollenkopf will step up to the position of Qualcomm CEO from March 4th next year. That takes him out of the running for Microsofts top job Mollenkopf is joining Qualcomms board today and will carry on in his role as company president.
