A leading tech analyst claims Amazon will have high-specification handset that responds to hand gestures on sale before the end of this year. In a note to his clients, KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo wrote, We predict Amazon (US) will launch its own brand smartphone in 3-6 months, using the same hardware strategy as used for its e-reader and tablet. Reports have been circulating for two years that the online retailer is readying its own smartphone to compete with Apple and Android but what makes the content of this advisory note, seen by BRG, important is because it was written by Ming-Chi Kuo.
