SK Hynix says Toshiba seeks $1.1 billion in NAND leak suit

South Koreas SK Hynix Inc on Monday said Japanese rival Toshiba Corp is seeking 109.15 billion yen ($1.08 billion) in damages in a lawsuit filed over the suspected leak of NAND flash memory chip technology. SK Hynix disclosed the amount in a regulatory filing after receiving official notice of the lawsuit, which was filed in Japan in March. Toshiba is also seeking to have SK Hynix destroy all information about the technology in question and cease production and sales of NAND memory products using that technology, according to the regulatory filing. SK Hynix said it would seek to have the lawsuit dismissed.
